MittelMeeting “A future to share”

After the collaboration established in the last edition, on Wednesday 27 July 2022 at 10 am, at the Villa De Claricini Dornpacher in Bottenicco di Moimacco (UD), the Mitteleuropa Association, on the occasion of Mittelfest 2022, will organize the MittelMeeting forum “A future to share” , with the intention of offering a concrete contribution to the institutional, cultural and economic relations between the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and the countries of Central-Eastern Europe.

2022 will focus on highly topical issues, organized in two discussion panels: the first, entitled FVG-Austria “a shared future”, will be dedicated to relations, projects and collaboration protocols with Austria, and in particular with Carinthia. The second, entitled University of the border GO! to 2025, will instead be addressed to the cooperation between the contiguous Universities of Trieste, Udine and Nova Gorica in relation to the extraordinary event that will see Nova Gorica and Gorizia as European Capital of Culture in 2025.

Entry to the forum is by invitation.

The Mitteleuropa Association was founded in 1974 with the desire to promote cultural, economic and social dialogue between Central European countries: a challenge, in a historical moment in which the rift of the Iron Curtain made relationships and projects very difficult, if not impossible. Over the years, Mitteleuropa has associated the original mission with that of a real private diplomatic agency. Today the association is accredited by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region among the cultural bodies of regional importance and is registered in the transparency register of the European Commission.

Villa de Claricini Dornpacher is located in Bottenicco di Moimacco, a small rural village on the outskirts of Cividale del Friuli. It was built around the mid-17th century by the de Claricini Dornpacher family. Thanks to the testamentary bequest of the Countess Giuditta, the Fondazione de Claricini Dornpacher was born in 1971. As required by the statute, the latter is a non-profit and aims to preserve the ancestral heritage, promote studies and cultural events. The guiding phrase of the Foundation is “Preserving and producing culture”.
