Abo Jabal: It is 8 May 2024 and Israel is preparing to launch a devastating military operation in Rafah. Tahani, a Palestinian woman repeatedly internally displaced by the attacks on Gaza, wonders where to find refuge for herself and her children again. An insight into her life and her family before and after 7 October, describing the heartbreak of a mother who, scarred by a painful loss, struggles to find peace again.
ThePoem We Sang is an experimental documentary that combines colour and black and white footage. The film explores the themes of love for one’s family and nostalgia for one’s home. These feelings are addressed by dealing with the trauma of losing the family home and forced migration. The film transforms the regrets of a lifetime into a journey of healing, creative catharsis and witnessing.
