Friuli Venezia Giulia and Bosnia – Erzegovina

Since 2021, Associazione Mitteleuropa has been enhancing the rich programme of theatre, music, dance and circus performances staged by Mittelfest by organising an important event of institutional friendship, a forum for dialogue and meetings between Friuli Venezia Giulia and foreign countries, thus confirming the special relations of this region with countries that are close to it in terms of geography, history and culture. In 2021, the special guest was Slovenia, with the honour of the presence of the President of the Republic Borut Pahor; in 2022 it was the turn of Austria; in 2023, Hungary, on the occasion of Veszprém, European Capital of Culture 2023; in 2024, the Czech Republic; and in 2025, Croatia. In 2026, the discussion events organised by Mitteleuropa will continue, with the collaboration and hospitality of CiviBank – Sparkasse Group.

Associazione Mitteleuropa

Associazione Mitteleuropa was founded in 1974 to promote cultural, economic and social dialogue among the countries of Central Europe: a challenge at a time when the division caused by the Iron Curtain made relations and projects very difficult, if not impossible. Over the years, Associazione Mitteleuropa has combined its original mission with real Cultural Diplomacy. Today, the Association is accredited by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region as a cultural institution of regional relevance and is registered in the Transparency Register of the European Commission.
