Mittelfest unveils the theme for the 33rd Mittelfest (19 to 28/7) and the 4th Mittelyoung (16 to 18/7).

On 15 December, the international open call of mittelyoung officially opens: artists and companies under 30 from 27 countries will be able to propose their shows and be selected to form the 2023 program which will be staged from 18 to 21 May in Cividale del Friuli and Nova Gorica.

The Unexpected is the theme of the 2022 edition of Mittelfest, chosen by Artistic Director Giacomo Pedini: a word capable of evoking a rich imagination made up of chances and possibilities, but also of choices and ability to react.

Mittelfest turns thirty and looks at the new generation of artists from Central Europe to make the programme of MittelYoung: four days, from 24 to 27 June, to give voice to under-30 creativity with artists, companies and collectives strictly under the age of thirty, who will bring their own theatre, music and dance projects to Cividale del Friuli.
