A raw and poetic portrait of loneliness and the price of dreams in the age of capitalism. Manuela Mandracchia and Alvia Reale play Ágota Kristóf and, through a blend of humour and bitterness, explore the divide between those who possess and those who desire. The friendship between two women on the fringes of a ruthless society is put to the test by a lottery ticket. Through acting that is at times clownish, Kristóf’s dry and direct writing takes shape in an intense alternation between claustrophobia and comedy.
