Totem e tabù
Bodanza, Da Pozzo, Kusterle
Taking inspiration from the Freudian essay of the same name, the exhibition ‘Totem e tabù’ (Totem and taboo), hosted at Galleria Spazio Cortequattro, presents the works of three important contemporary Friulian artists who have investigated different variations of the forbidden. Gaetano Bodanza, who through sculpture, painting and digital art ironically represents an unconsciously crazy humanity and focuses on the themes of eroticism and the sacred. Ulderica Da Pozzo, who presents a series of photographs taken in the former psychiatric hospital of Sant’Osvaldo in Udine, casting a glance at the suffering, exclusion and misunderstanding of psychic disability. And Roberto Kusterle, whose dense and vibrant images lead us into a deep analysis of metamorphism. The human body dresses and undresses with symbols, in a continuous superposition of allegories, metaphors and taboos.
Every day from 18 to 27 July | 17.00 – 20.00
