prize-winner Lucia Limonta
event organised by Soroptimist International d’Italia – Club Cividale del Friuli
in collaboration with Associazione Mittelfest

Over two hundred years ago, on 29 January 1822, Cividale del Friuli saw the birth of one of the most important women of European and western theatre in the 19th century: Adelaide Ristori. To the ‘great actress’, who bewitched audiences around the world, the Soroptimist International d’Italia – Club Cividale del Friuli has annually dedicated since 1998 the prize of the same name, destined to the best artist of the previous edition of Mittelfest. In 2026, the Adelaide Ristori Prize goes to Lucia Limonta, one of the leading performers in Argo at Mittelfest 2025, a play written by Letizia Russo, based on Storia di Argo by Maria Grazia Ciani, and directed by Serena Sinigaglia. Through a dialogue between three generations of women, the play explores the drama of belonging and self-identity, and the theme of family memory in the light of historical divisions.
