3 Clowns: they’re at the end of one thing and beginning another. They’ve already had a long and varied career, and their paths have crossed sometimes. With their combined 194 years, despite the fatigue,
wear and tear, and the great mess of this world, the flame still burns bright. They’re going to put on their circus in the ring of light. They’ll then search for their acrobatics and gags in the depths of their know-how. They question the art of clowning. Playing with the tricks of the trade, revisiting them, subverting them, reflecting on the function of the entertainer. It’s a bit like a testimony. That’s what their show is, a kind of documentary. Monsieur Lô, Le Blanc, and the Auguste clowns Marcel and Airbus revisit their classics, then embark on a tribute to the clowns of yesteryear, and things spiral out of control.
The history of clowns told by clowns is yet another story about clowns.
