Il visconte dimezzato
Italo Calvino/Vinicio Marchioni

Moved to Teatro Ristori
War is raging in Bohemia. Viscount Medardo of Terralba makes an assault, he is hit by a cannonball and is split in two. Only his evil half returns to rule his fiefdom. Dense with horror is the beginning of this fable, which in following the opposite deeds of the Viscount’s two ‘sides’, one ‘wretched’ and one ‘good’, stages a humanity marked by incompleteness. Vinicio Marchioni, with the musical evocations of some Radio Zastava musicians, gives voice to the truculent fate of this divided, mutilated and alienated humanity. Were it not for the cunning Pamela, with whom the Viscount’s two halves fall in love. Perhaps the future is not already written.
