“They have light steps of shy bare feet. Their eyes are wild, like those of a forest wildcat, their long diaphanous hands grasp their robes and keep in the shadows anyone who enters their mystery, which is darker than the black whirlpool. They feed on fresh human flesh, preferably a cub, preferably alone. It is not the cuckoo tormenting call: it is their sad sobbing. Some people swear they have glimpsed them amidst thuds of white sheets, thrown on rocks, as the laundresses used to do; others say they are like an enchanting dance under the white of the moon”. The Aganis are creatures from a mythological Friuli, endowed with a nocturnal transforming power, which escapes the unwary eye of the traveller. The Aganis, with their lullabies and melodies, are at the heart of this year’s EmpatiaAR experience. Under the artistic direction of Luca A. d’Agostino, the musician Giorgio Pacorig and the actresses Aida Talliente and Marta Cuscunà literally plunge us into a multi-sensory universe linked to the history of Friuli, by watching and listening in virtual reality.
