La caduta dei Muri ha prodotto, quasi per gemmazione, nuove repubbliche. Nel desiderio e nella gioia della riconosciuta identità esse sono diventate terreno ideale anche per la rinascita musicale. Nel concerto eseguito dall’orchestra di Tallinn, le composizioni dell’estone Arvo Pärt, del georgiano Giya Kancheli, delll’uzbeko Alexander Knaifel, dell’ucraino Valentin Silvestrov  e del polacco Krzysztof Penderecki avranno come direttore e solista al violino un musicista del calibro di Andres Mustonen.

The fall of the Walls has produced new republics, almost as though they were seeded. In their desire and joy for a newly recognised identity, they have become the ideal terrain for a musical renaissance too. In the concert performed by the Tallinn orchestra, the compositions by Arvo Pärt of Estonia, Giya Kancheli of Georgia, Alexander Knaifel of Uzbekistan, Valentin Silvestrov of Ukraine and Krzysztof Penderecki of Poland will be conducted by a masterly Andres Mustonen, who will also be playing solo violin.
