La protagonista ha 45 anni, forse meno, e non sappiamo come si chiami. Sappiamo solo che è sopravvissuta ad Auschwitz ed è poi emigrata in America. Le sue parole sono una fragile barriera all’orrore. L’ironia, il sarcasmo, la concretezza, sono le sue armi. In lei convivono il ghetto di Lodz e gli USA anni 50, Heinrich Himmler e Marylin Monroe. Ineluttabilmente, il passato è il presente in questo monologo del drammaturgo tedesco Daniel Call.

The protagonist is 45 or less, and we don’t know her name. We know only that she has survived Auschwitz and then emigrated to America. Her words are a fragile barrier against horror. Her arms are irony, sarcasm and down-to-earth common sense. In her, we see the ghetto of Lodz and the United States of the 1950s, Heinrich Himmler and Marilyn Monroe. Ineluctably, the past is the present in this monologue by the German dramatist, Daniel Call.
